We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

As far as National Parks go… Arches is right there on the top of our list as one of the best! And the city of Moab is simply tops!

We visited the area at the beginning of the summer and are already planning a return visit to hit the many stops we didn’t have time for this go around. We simply had the BEST time and LOVED the area.

Specifically our hotel: The Homewood Suites by Hilton Moab

Location: 132 N. Main Street, Moab, UT, 84532, US

Located in the heart of Moab, The Homewood Suites is the perfect home base during your adventures. With restaurants, shopping, and more all within walking distance this hotel has everything you need. Plus, the amenities included at the hotel are unmatched!

The Homewood Suites by Hilton Moab’s central location in town is walking distance from the Museum of Moab and close to the Grand County Civic Center. This hotel is also within close proximity to Rotary Park and Slickrock Bike Trail. It’s 10 min from the entrance of Arches National Park and 20 min from Dead Horse State Park and Canyonlands National Park. We checked out each of the National Parks, and were able to easily walk to dinner and lunch (at the nearby food truck park) from the hotel.

The smoke-free, pet friendly hotel is part of the Hilton chain, but has a local flare that makes it ideal for your stay. The hotel is clean, quiet, large open areas, welcoming and decorated to showcase the best of the landscape around. Also included:

Pet and Kid-Friendly

We were there early June and it was already hot! The weather there is known to be warm; as in above 100 degrees by mid afternoon. Which meant we spent our mornings out exploring, and came back during the afternoon to swim, relax and our kid’s favorite: kid’s club!!! And we were back out and about during the evening hours as the sun set and the weather cooled off enough to enjoy a hike or adventure.

Every week day different activities are offered for kids of all ages. From making crafts, painting, bingo, movie night, and more. The activities are posted in the lobby each morning, and if you ask the front desk about an doing an activity, they are more than happy to provide one (if possible).

My kid’s favorite thing: rock painting!

We wanted to rent the telescopes and do some star gazing, but the nights were too cloudy during our stay. And as we got back from one of our adventures one night, we saw a group making s’mores! Seriously, the kid’s club and family activities are such a great feature to an already great hotel! To say this place is perfect for families is an understatement.

But needing that cool place to spend the hot afternoons made having a comfortable, roomy area all the more important.

Our Room

We stayed in the 2-Queen Bed Studio

This room sleeps 6 and had plenty of space for our family.

The spacious suite includes 2 queen-sized beds, a television with remote control, and a full-sized sofa bed. As well as a fully-equipped kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and twin burner stove – plus utensils – to make dining in easy. For added convenience and flexibility, there is an additional work table and chair, separate from the dining area table. Plus, like all the suites, we had complimentary WiFi, a telephone with voicemail, and a custom-designed alarm clock with MP3 player capabilities.

Also available is a King sized bed w/ bunk beds to sleep 4 easily.

Winter in Moab

Like I said, we are already planning the next trip there to do the hikes and areas we did not have time to see during this expedition. And I’ve heard that winter is a great time to explore Moab! Summer is always a super popular time to explore our National Parks simply because time off work and school, but this area would be perfect to explore during the cooler seasons. Additionallyt, because it is technically the “0ff-season” you get to explore the parks in a more personal way. And can enjoy more time outside with the cooler temperatures, while still having all activities available. Soudns like a win win to me. Make sure to sign up for a free membership to Winter in Moab and you can stay updated on local events, explore what their partners have to offer, and enjoy 10% year round discounts with Homewood Suites by Hilton Moab!
