What National Day is Today?

Doesn’t it seem like there is a “national //fill in the blank// day everyday now? And can I be honest? I LOVE IT!

If you are like me and love celebrating and finding the fun in ordinary days, the website, National Today, is for you. I check in most days to see what the national day is and find a way to incorporate that into our mundane lives and spice it up a bit. It’s like celebrating a holiday everyday but without the pomp, gifts and stress that usually go along with those big holidays.

My kids LOVE celebrating even the simplest days and are extra happy when it happens to be National Ice Cream Cone Day like it will be on September 22.

National Day gives the background on the holiday, some fun facts and information. It also gives ideas of how to celebrate in case (like me) you like other people to be creative for you.

You will be surprised by how many businesses across the nation usually celebrate these days too; so finding a good, fun deal is always an added bonus.

For instance, we plan on eating an ice cream cone (duh) on the 22nd. But, the question is whether or not we will take the suggestion on National Today to ‘make our own cone’, ‘decorate ice cream cones’ or ‘go out to get one’ is really the only thing we have to worry about. But, if we chose to go out we will definitely be on the lookout for a deal. Some of our options are:

-Burger King which will give a free chocolate sundae if you place a mobile order on that day.

-Baskin Robbins is having a deal on 2 pre-packed quarts of ice cream for $7.99 on the 22nd.

-Cold Stone (new and existing) club members get a buy-one-get-one free scoop as long as you are signed up by Saturday.

-Cream has a buy-one-get-one free on Sunday and Monday. No coupon or app needed.

-Dairy Queen will have different deals on their mobile app. Check it out!

-Johnny Rockets is giving a free milkshake with the purchase on an entree on Sunday.

-McDonald’s is giving away a cone for 50 cents with the coupon on the app.

-Wendy’s has their small frosty’s for 50 cents.

-Yogurtland is doing a buy-one-get-one free deal from 1-6 PM Sunday at all their locations.
