Best Back to School Traditions For Families
We are started up school again this week. (I am really not ready for summer to be over, but what can you do)? To ready ourselves for “the big day” there are a number of things we do in preparation and some traditions we keep at the beginning of each new school year. Back to school shopping. Every year before school starts I take the girls (my two oldest who are in school) on a special girls day. We shop, eat, and just have fun. If I am to be honest, I am not a big shopper and prefer doing it online over anything else. But, we are really not…

12 Strategies For a Successful Road Trip with Kids
Recently we packed up our 4 young kids (ages 8, 6, 3, and 1) and headed out on a 16-hour road trip from Southern California to the Oregon Coast. My kids are no strangers to long drives. I mean we live in the traffic capital of the world and love to get out and go; so, to an extent they are use to long bouts in the car. However, when I say long drives our typical trip usually maxes out at about 5 hours. So, to triple that amount had me a little anxious. Mostly about the baby and toddler. So, we prepared as best we could, held our breath…

10 Easy Family Favorite Hikes in Southern California
My family loves to hike. We have started all our kids out young. Do they always enjoy it? No. But, they don’t usually complain much because it’s just something we’ve always done. Now, I am not talking Mt. Whitney here. I am talking a good, solid, let’s almost call them nature walks (usually between 1-3.5 miles). We do have backpack carriers (for the kids), but when possible, we try to use a stroller. Because let’s be honest, who wants to lug a kid around whilst already exerting yourself? Am I right??? And we usually try to get all the “big kids” ages 3+ doing it on their own. Here are…

Good Remedy For Anxiety
In the last few years I have struggled with a bit of anxiety. Since the birth of my last baby (#4), it has amplified significantly. I don’t like to share these struggles with too many people… and I say that as I write this on a public social media post. I know, the irony is not lost on me. I also know that admitting this does not make me weak, or broken. In fact, while I am a person who doesn’t like to admit weakness, my struggles make me very normal. I don’t know statistics and facts about the subject, though I bet with a quick google search I could…
