Where to eat out with Kids for CHEAP! And sometimes even free!
I mean the best answer is obviously…DON’T TAKE THEM! But, when you have them, they expect to be fed like 3 times a day with at least 50 snacks scattered throughout that time. It can be exhausting. Then you have to clean up after them, which is basically a full-time job. Am I right?! So, when I can successfully wrangle them all up and go out to eat as a family; It is a welcomed time off for this mama. Actually, my job shifts from chef and bus boy to clown as I try to keep them quietly entertained until the food comes. But it can also get pricey. So,…

Etiwanda Falls Waterfall Trail in the Inland Empire
It’s been years since we’ve done the Etiwanda Falls Trail in the North Etiwanda Preserve in Rancho Cucamonga, Ca. In fact, the last time we did it, we had 2 kids and one of them was still in the hiking carrier. So, adding two more was interesting because this is a hike. Not a hard hike, but it is relatively long coming in at 3.4 miles. TRAIL-HEAD: Etiwanda Falls Trail (look on maps) North of the 210 fwy off Etiwanda Ave. DON’T PARK ON STREET!!! Watched a cop write about 100 tickets to cars on the street; pay attention to the “No-Parking” signs. There is a gravel lot at the…

Graffiti Falls Hike {private property}
Disclosure: UPDATE This trail is on PRIVATE PROPERTY and is closed to the public. The entrance is gated and locked with signs that states NO TRESPASSING, VIOLATORS WILL BE PROSECUTED. There are all types of beauty in the world. And though I am not one to support desecrating nature, I do find beauty in the “street art” found at graffiti falls. So, this quiet, nature hike has more of an “urban” feel to it, though it is found in a very suburban, and seemingly ordinary neighborhood. Expect lots of paint cans, and graffiti, obviously. And if it has not been cleaned up recently, you may have some broken glass in…

The Great Pumpkin Rock Hike
Norco, Ca Trail-head: Pikes Peak Park (111 Sixth St, Norco, CA 92860) or 3402 Vandermolen Dr, Norco, CA 92860… In fact there are many trails that will take you to the top, these two are the most convenient. The park offers bathrooms, water, etc. Elevation change: approx: 400′ Difficulty: Moderate Time: approx. 45 minutes — trail is locked down at dusk if you take it from the park, so be sure to get there before sunset. (We had to hop a fence to make it out) Dog and horse friendly. Not stroller friendly. Pumpkin Rock located in Norco, Ca is a giant boulder painted like a large jack-o-latern, or orange…

New and Improved Chuck-E-Cheese: Where A Kid Can Be A Kid
This is a sponsored post for Chuck E. Cheese, all thoughts and opinions are my own. If you haven’t been to Chuck E. Cheese for a while, you are in for a pleasant surprise. No longer will you find fluorescent lights and colorful neon wall paneling. The restaurant won’t smell of a large urine ball pit. And your kid’s won’t run terrified as large robotic creatures come to life to sing scary songs like something from a nightmare. Our family was recently able to attend the grand reopening of the Rancho Cucamonga Chuck E. Cheese location and were so impressed by what they’ve done to the place. Not only does…

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow at Riley’s Farm
If I had to choose one family favorite Fall activity to do, this would be it. It encompasses everything wonderful about the season. It has the spooky element without overdoing it, hayrides, good food, a classic tale and drama, dancing, pie eating, pumpkin carving, seed spitting; are you convinced yet? We have attended The Legend of Sleepy Hollow at Riley’s Farm in Oak Glen numerous times over the past years and each time we love it more and more. The night focuses around Washington Irvine’s timeless tale of Ichabod Crane and the headless horseman. You will find yourself meeting the colorful characters of Tarrytown, including Katrina Van Tassel, the burly…
