Plan Your Visit To The La Brea Tar Pits
Who knew you could visit the Ice Age right in the middle of Downtown Los Angeles?! The La Brea Tar Pits on Miracle Mile in the heart of L.A. transports you back to the age of mammoths, mastodons, giant sloths, saber tooth tigers, a squirrel chasing that elusive acorn (Anyone?) and so much more. With over 3.5 million fossils having been found there, this place is definitely somewhere you want to check out when you are in town. The La Brea Tar Pits are natural tar pits formed under L.A. that have seeped up from the ground in the area for tens of thousands of years. Over the centuries the…

The All New Jurassic World—The Ride at Universal Studios
I have to admit, I was a bit bummed when I found out Universal Studios was closing Jurassic Park the ride to give it a face lift. It was still a decent ride to me, and we had passes to the park and wouldn’t be able to ride it for the remainder of our time there. Sure it has seen better days in the last 20 plus years, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. With that said, we recently rode the new Jurassic World ride and I am SO GLAD they redid it. It is definitely an upgraded attraction! Jurassic World the ride took the best parts of the old…

This year they expanded and added nearly 29,000 square feet of interactive and innovative space with the new Pacific Visions Wing. The new wing features hands on exhibits, an art gallery that transports visitors under the sea, live animals, and my personal favorite a state of…

10 Easy Family Favorite Hikes in Southern California
My family loves to hike. We have started all our kids out young. Do they always enjoy it? No. But, they don’t usually complain much because it’s just something we’ve always done. Now, I am not talking Mt. Whitney here. I am talking a good, solid, let’s almost call them nature walks (usually between 1-3.5 miles). We do have backpack carriers (for the kids), but when possible, we try to use a stroller. Because let’s be honest, who wants to lug a kid around whilst already exerting yourself? Am I right??? And we usually try to get all the “big kids” ages 3+ doing it on their own. Here are…

Free and Cheap Date Ideas in LA
As parents to 4 young kids, it is important essential, to keep that romantic spark alive and going. We are huge proponents of “dating your spouse!” Yet we tend to be boooooring when we date. Like the typical dinner and a movie. But it is usually just the movie. And sometimes it’s just a movie at home in our jammies. But who really watches movies when you can re-watch The Office for the 9th time? However, we also enjoy a good full day out in the “city”—otherwise known as L.A. (when we can get away from the kids for that long with babysitters and work and well, life). When we…
