About Us

My husband and I both grew up in Southern California. And yet, like I am sure many of you, we really haven’t seen a lot of what California has to offer. So, a few years ago, we decided to start touring our own area. And, like tourists, we made a list of places to see and started to check them off one by one. You would laugh if you saw the looooong list that continues to grow on my phone of places right here in Southern California I want to check out (food, hikes, photo ops, you name it). Luckily, I married a man who is such a good sport and will pack up the kids and a huge backpack of snacks whenever the whim hits me to just “go”. And by just go, I mean like 1.5 hours later, because, well 4 kids. And, we are just like you. We don’t have millions to spend traveling the world, but we love a good adventure. And love to get outside and enjoy what is right here near us. And yes, we usually pack up all 4 of our young kids (ages 8 and under) to do it right alongside us. Sometimes, they love the adventure and make it all the more magical. And sometimes…. not so much. What we want this page to be about is living life as a tourist right here in your own backyard. Get out there and explore with us. Share with us your favorite places, food and things that just make life easier. And hopefully, we will help you find some new favorites as we share ours with you.
