Screen time. In a perfect world, I would have my kids use it minimally. But, I work from home, have 4 kids each with individual needs and let’s be honest, sometimes my sanity depends on it. So, I love the Ricky Zoom app because when my kids do get their screen time, and I get a few all-important minutes to do what I need to around the house; I know they are getting good, age-appropriate, interactive and educational screen-time that they enjoy, but also they are learning important life lessons without even realizing it. It comes in super handy when I need to do chores at home, when my kids get restless at a restaurant or even when we are stuck in traffic after a long day being out. So, while I like to keep my kids active and screen time to a minimum, when I do use it (because let’s be honest, it’s fantastic to have) I love being able to put something I trust, and is educational and safe in front of my kids.
Sometimes I get so frustrated with the apps my kids play. They are either too complicated and they can’t do them by themselves so they need me to “help them” every 20 seconds. And honestly, doesn’t that kind of defeat the purpose of screen time? And often while they are playing nothing bugs me (and them) more than a million commercials showing up after each level; many times with inappropriate content that makes me nervous they will accidentally tap on. So when I found the Nick Jr. Ricky Zoom app, I was sold!!!
The bike buddies from Nickelodeon’s Ricky Zoom are here to help your little ones learn all about teamwork, community, and friendship. Join Ricky, Toot, Loop, Scootio, and DJ as they bring fun online preschool learning to life. There is so much your little one can do on this app. Like meet the characters, test out their gadgets, and explore the world of Wheelford. All this is done through mini games that your child chooses as they learn the skills to become one of the bike buddies. But, the best part about this app (in my humble opinion) besides all the fun games, is that it really is age appropriate and Griffin, my preschooler, can successfully manage each game by himself. I can hand my tablet or phone to him without the internet connected because it doesn’t require WIFI. Plus, there are no advertisements. At all! It is a dream app for both kids and parents alike.
