Many times the words food and adventure go hand in hand for our family. We equate good food with good fun.
So, when we find something like the fun of Sea World with it’s many aquatic animals, educational shows, experiences and opportunities right alongside a chance to sample different food flavors from around the world; we are there for it!
Sea World is currently hosting the Seven Seas Food Festival taking place select Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays now through May 2, 2021 from 12pm to park closing. The festival features more than 125 new chef- and mixologist-crafted flavors to sample and sip with your select lanyard; and live music to enjoy as you make your way around the park.
With exquisite flavors to top off educational animal presentations and extraordinary exhibits, the Seven Seas Food Festival is a voyage to stir the soul—and warm the belly! And everyone in the family will find something they enjoy! I promise!
Safety Measures
Sea World has taken the necessary precautions to reopen and allow visitors to come and enjoy the outdoor animals once more. Taken from their website:
SeaWorld, a licensed, permitted and accredited zoo is NOW OPEN and is operating in compliance with state safety guidelines for zoos. Rides, rollercoasters and indoor animal exhibits are temporarily closed at this time due to current State of California COVID-19 guidelines. We look forward to welcoming our guests back to our park for fun, safe and memorable experiences. – SeaWorld San Diego
SeaWorld is committed to the health and safety of our guests, employees, and the animals in our care. We have worked diligently with state and local health officials, outside consultants and attraction industry leaders to enhance our already strict health, safety and cleanliness standards. These protocols and guidelines will be modified based on evolving industry standards and methodologies, public health and governmental directives, and advancing scientific knowledge on the transmissibility of COVID-19.
Reservations Required
All guests with existing tickets, Fun Cards, or Annual Passes must make a reservation to visit in advance in order to manage park capacity and maintain physical distancing. Requiring reservations allows the park to limit the number of guests on property each day, further enhancing the park’s rigorous safety protocols. To make your reservation click here.
Menu
The menu to select from is large and all encompassing. These dishes have been inspired from cultures all around the world including the tastes and smells of the Mediterranean, Polynesia, Mexico, the Caribbean, France, Italy and beyond. So while it may still not be possible to enjoy international travel right now, your taste buds will be singing a different tune. (And don’t worry, they have your picky eaters covered with classic dishes like burgers, pizza, fries, mac n cheese, and chicken fingers in select restaurants as part of the tasting samples, so they will leave happy and full too).
To see the full menu click here.
There are stands scattered around the park. When you receive your lanyard you will also receive a map. On the map the stands are numbered. Find the corresponding page in your food guide to the number on the map in order to have all the info of the food flavors found at that specific stand. You will also see information with the different music and cultural events happening at the park. See map below:
I will also happily report that the sample portions are HUGE! We have done samples in the past and it felt very much like that. A sample. These portions were soooo large and filling. The only down size for us personally is that all the drinks were alcoholic. So if you are like us, and don’t drink alcohol, you are out of luck and will have to purchase a drink from a different area or stick to water.

Sea World constantly has fun events, activities, and educational opportunities happening. Having a FUN CARD allows you to buy a day and get the YEAR FREE! *COVID Restrictions currently have only outdoor exhibits and shows open.
Throughout the year you can enjoy not only the many shows, music, characters, and of course animals; but also the festivals, events, and other fun things happening. Like Sea World’s Rescue Tails— an animal meet and greet. Which gives a small group of individuals the chance to get up close and personal with really cool animals. Learn about their behavior, personalities and see how Sea World helps rescue animals in poor situations and the conservation efforts they take. This is an awesome learning experience for kids; especially animals lovers. Mine could not wait to meet the birds, caribou, and even alligator, Spike! Starting at just $14.99 per guest this is an opportunity you cannot pass up!
To reserve your spot for Rescue Tails go here.
And another family favorite is the scavenger hunt around the park. Purchase an animal sticker map at The SeaWorld Store to get started on your quest! Explore the park to find specific animals and mark each location on your map with the correct sticker as you enjoy your day at SeaWorld. When you’ve found them all, bring your completed map back to The SeaWorld Store to collect a special gift just for you! (It’s a legit prize too- one gift per completed map). My kids LOVE things like this! It’s all they cared about most of the day.
With so much fun to be had every day – your family is sure to enjoy Sea World all year long!!!!
