The Sea Sprite: Beachfront Hotel in Hermosa Beach

    December 8, 2021 /

Address: 1016 The Strand, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254 Since 1964 The Sea Sprite in Hermosa Beach has been a staple of the area. In fact, my hubby and I both grew up visiting the hotel unbeknownst to each other until a few years into marriage; once we realized this fun fact we knew we wanted our kids to have the same fantastic memories we had there. It makes for a great beach vacation for families in LA. The best part about this hotel (in my opinion) is the location. It is pretty unbeatable. Located literally steps away from the sand you basically step out of your hotel room and onto…

What’s New at Universal Studios Hollywood

    July 27, 2021 /

It was good to be back after so long to one of our favorite places in Southern California… Universal Studios. And like always, it definitely did NOT disappoint. We enjoyed all our favorite rides, attractions, characters, treats and experienced some new favorites this time around as well. Like……. The all new Secret Life of Pets ride Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash Guests will first be “wowed” by the perfect replica of Katie’s NYC apartment building on Pet’s Place, where the “The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash!” ride takes place. The impressive new ride combines 64 technologically-advanced animated figures with hyper-realistic media and projection mapping designed to…

Cave in the Middle of Los Angeles? You Have to See it to Believe it!

    January 13, 2021 /

Vanalden Cave Hike: Los Angeles Trail-head: The Vanalden Trail begins at the dead end of Vanalden Ave in Tarzana (Los Angeles)… follow the small fire road in the middle of the street on the south side of the road under a large tree. 1.2 miles out and back Elevation Change: 300-500 ft Difficulty: Easy/moderate Time: 20-30 min No fee or permit required. Dog friendly. Not stroller or wheel chair friendly. Good shoes recommended as the path is very slick at places. Not recommended in the rain. When looking for a hike, we love to end at a “destination”; waterfall, overlook, or in this case, a rad cave! And can you…

Blue sky, blue sea, good food, perfect weather, a drink in your hand with your toes in the sand. Sounds pretty perfect right? While we may not be doing any far away exotic islands any time soon, that is absolutely no problem for us here in sunny Southern California. Why? Because we have our very own island paradise located just 26 miles off the coast. Catalina Island at only an hour boat ride from Los Angeles and Orange County on the Catalina Express is a must do!!! This beautiful island has it all! If you are looking for adventure, take your pick of pristine snorkeling or scuba diving, zip lining…
