Ladder Hike in San Diego
Annie’s Canyon is a family friendly hike near Solana Beach that brings the fun! This hike is nothing short of a gem. Located near Solana Beach, San Diego County this trail gives you panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, San Elijo Lagoon, narrow slot canyons, and a ladder climb through the sandstone all in less than 2 miles, 100 feet of elevation, and it’s easy enough for the whole family to do together; but fun enough that everyone (teenagers included) will enjoy it! This trail in essence allows one to feel like a true adventurer without really having to have any training or skill whatsoever. My kids LOVED it, we…

Where to eat out with Kids for CHEAP! And sometimes even free!
I mean the best answer is obviously…DON’T TAKE THEM! But, when you have them, they expect to be fed like 3 times a day with at least 50 snacks scattered throughout that time. It can be exhausting. Then you have to clean up after them, which is basically a full-time job. Am I right?! So, when I can successfully wrangle them all up and go out to eat as a family; It is a welcomed time off for this mama. Actually, my job shifts from chef and bus boy to clown as I try to keep them quietly entertained until the food comes. But it can also get pricey. So,…

The Wonderful Land of Oz At The San Diego County Fair
The 2019 San Diego County Fair is absolutely “Oz-some!” The theme this year of the fair is based off of L. Frank Baum’s ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” and it is absolutely adorable in every way! And, can you see what I did up there with “Oz-some?” As we meandered through the fair, we thoroughly enjoyed the themed characters we ran into, the classic decorations and movie posters, as well as the activities available at certain times; bummed we missed a few too. The fair is the perfect place to spend a summer night with the whole family! What to do at the fair? Watch the pig races, see dogs…

Catch the Storm Play Ball in Lake Elsinore
“Take me out to the ballgame, take me out to the crowd……” Summer and baseball are two things that go hand in hand. Sitting under the bright stadium lights on a cool summer night. The smell of hotdogs and popcorn wafting through the air. Cheers, and music enveloping you as you root, root, root for the home team. A baseball game is all good things summer is and has to offer; and our family was lucky enough to spend a magical evening with the Elsinore Storm this summer. The Storm is all the best parts of baseball without the traffic, crowds, and spending a small fortune on tickets, parking. and…

10 Easy Family Favorite Hikes in Southern California
My family loves to hike. We have started all our kids out young. Do they always enjoy it? No. But, they don’t usually complain much because it’s just something we’ve always done. Now, I am not talking Mt. Whitney here. I am talking a good, solid, let’s almost call them nature walks (usually between 1-3.5 miles). We do have backpack carriers (for the kids), but when possible, we try to use a stroller. Because let’s be honest, who wants to lug a kid around whilst already exerting yourself? Am I right??? And we usually try to get all the “big kids” ages 3+ doing it on their own. Here are…
