10 of the Best Things to See in St. George Utah For First Timers

    January 14, 2020 /

As many times as we’ve visited Southern Utah it never disappoints. It has every outdoor adventure you can think of and is absolutely stunning. Proof lies in the many MANY National Parks nestled so close to one another. Better yet, it is all very affordable, making it the perfect family destination. St. George is the largest city in the Southern part of Utah and is a great place to stay as you discover the beauty of the region with all the comforts of the city. Our family visits the area often from Southern California since it is a relatively quick drive at a little over 5 hours. We have had…

Etiwanda Falls Waterfall Trail in the Inland Empire

    January 11, 2020 /

It’s been years since we’ve done the Etiwanda Falls Trail in the North Etiwanda Preserve in Rancho Cucamonga, Ca. In fact, the last time we did it, we had 2 kids and one of them was still in the hiking carrier. So, adding two more was interesting because this is a hike. Not a hard hike, but it is relatively long coming in at 3.4 miles. TRAIL-HEAD: Etiwanda Falls Trail (look on maps) North of the 210 fwy off Etiwanda Ave. DON’T PARK ON STREET!!! Watched a cop write about 100 tickets to cars on the street; pay attention to the “No-Parking” signs. There is a gravel lot at the…

    Family Holiday Traditions

    January 10, 2020 /

I am a firm believer in family traditions. I like to do our traditional events and activities year after year. I think it gives us as a family something to look forward to, it allows us time to reminisce together, and it is comfortable, safe and warm (can you tell I am a person who doesn’t easily embrace change)? This doesn’t mean I won’t do or add new things into the mix; it just means there are things I like and look forward to and everything extra is simply icing on the cake. The holidays are the best when it comes to creating good family traditions. My kids, as young…

    Graffiti Falls Hike {private property}

    December 30, 2019 /

Disclosure: UPDATE This trail is on PRIVATE PROPERTY and is closed to the public. The entrance is gated and locked with signs that states NO TRESPASSING, VIOLATORS WILL BE PROSECUTED. There are all types of beauty in the world. And though I am not one to support desecrating nature, I do find beauty in the “street art” found at graffiti falls. So, this quiet, nature hike has more of an “urban” feel to it, though it is found in a very suburban, and seemingly ordinary neighborhood. Expect lots of paint cans, and graffiti, obviously. And if it has not been cleaned up recently, you may have some broken glass in…

Best Family Friendly Ways to Ring in the New Year!!!

    December 28, 2019 /

We’ve done our fair share of ringing in the New Year… my favorite to date was 2012. Yes, my second daughter was born at 9:46 pm New Years Eve 2012. So, it’s a very special day for our family and we always have reason to celebrate. However, I also know that New Years Eve can be a hard holiday to celebrate with kids. So, I am going to share some of our favorite ways and places to do so with the whole family. GAME NIGHT We love holding game night at our home. Nothing is more fun than gathering with friends and all our kids to ring in the New…

    The Great Pumpkin Rock Hike

    December 27, 2019 /

Norco, Ca Trail-head: Pikes Peak Park (111 Sixth St, Norco, CA 92860) or 3402 Vandermolen Dr, Norco, CA 92860… In fact there are many trails that will take you to the top, these two are the most convenient. The park offers bathrooms, water, etc. Elevation change: approx: 400′ Difficulty: Moderate Time: approx. 45 minutes — trail is locked down at dusk if you take it from the park, so be sure to get there before sunset. (We had to hop a fence to make it out) Dog and horse friendly. Not stroller friendly. Pumpkin Rock located in Norco, Ca is a giant boulder painted like a large jack-o-latern, or orange…

    December 8, 2019 /

Universal Studios is back with their Christmas festivities! Make this year memorable as you and your family add a new tradition by joining in with the citizens of Whoville. Meet the Grinch and his trusty companion Max and watch the impressive light show at the Hogwarts castle all happening now through December 29th. Christmas at Universal Studios Hollywood is unbelievably cool! The Grinchmas seasonal Who-bilation and Who-lidays is happening again. Guests can enter Whoville and mix and mingle with different Whos; think the mayor, cheerleaders, the librarian, and even Cindy Lou Who, the Grinch and Max. New and Improved Chuck-E-Cheese: Where A Kid Can Be A Kid

    November 28, 2019 /

This is a sponsored post for Chuck E. Cheese, all thoughts and opinions are my own. If you haven’t been to Chuck E. Cheese for a while, you are in for a pleasant surprise. No longer will you find fluorescent lights and colorful neon wall paneling. The restaurant won’t smell of a large urine ball pit. And your kid’s won’t run terrified as large robotic creatures come to life to sing scary songs like something from a nightmare. Our family was recently able to attend the grand reopening of the Rancho Cucamonga Chuck E. Cheese location and were so impressed by what they’ve done to the place. Not only does…

The Best Gift Guide For Your Family This Christmas

    November 20, 2019 /

I can’t tell you how many times Christmas rolls around and I can’t think of a single thing my family members have asked for. My kids all year ask for things and I tell them to wait until Christmas, but by the time December rolls around, I can’t think of a single gift idea for them, my husband, or even myself! So this year, I have been writing things down as I think of them. That way I’ll have gift ideas; and I can share it with all you other parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings. That way we will have one place to come when looking for gift ideas for…
