Ventura truly is one of the gems of the California Coast. There is so much to do and see in the area you will want to dedicate a couple of days there to get it all in.
There are many options of places to stay, but the only one I can give a personal recommendation to is the Holiday Inn right there at the Marina. This newly designed hotel building was a welcome to our family for our quick 1 night trip. Get a room with a view because the location is simply magnificent as it looks over the Harbor, water, boats and coastline. The suites had enough space for my family of 6, to sleep with 2 queen beds and a pull out couch bed. The hotel has a very attentive, friendly staff with an “at your service” attitude & wide array of amenities for your comfort and enjoyment; including breakfast each morning. The location is perfect for those planning on water adventures; diving, island cruises, etc. and allows you to be at the harbor in mere minutes. The only downside is this hotel does not have a pool— they share with the hotel nearby, so expect a small walk to use it. Overall though, we were happy to have stayed here.
